Fall Events 2007

In the Fall of 2006 Ajari Tanaka visited for the most successful collection of events in Manadala Vermont history.  Ajari Tanaka will return to Vermont in September 2007 for a 2 week stay.  For a schedule of events or to pre-register please contact us.

Annual Autumn Retreat Conducted by Ajari Jomyo Tanaka

This is our most important event of the year.  Each Autumn, usually during September or October, Ajari Tanaka conducts a week long retreat.  During this retreat we maintain a full day of practice and study in which Ajari Tanaka leads all meditations and recitations, teaches Shodo, conducts Shomyo lessons, presents Dharma talks and entertains questions.  It is highly recommended that interested students have some prior experience with our practice before attending this event, but the Annual Autumn Retreat is open to all that wish to attend.

Weekly Practice

Each Thursday evening we gather at a Sangha member’s home in Burlington to practice together.  We begin at 7:00 p.m. and usually end around 9:00 p.m.  This is a very good environment for new students to receive initial instruction in our practice.

Weekend Practice Intensive

A number of times throughout the year we conduct weekend practice intensives.  These programs begin on Friday evenings with an opening practice session, resume on Saturday with three hours sessions in the morning and afternoon and conclude on Sunday by midday.  Weekend practice intensives are generally conducted three times a year during winter, spring and summer.  This is a great environment for new students to learn more about and increase their experience in practice with the support of established practitioners.
